The aim and purpose of Open Balkan

Open Balkan is a regional initiative of the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Albania and the Republic of North Macedonia to establish an economic zone with the aim of increasing trade and cooperation, and improving mutual bilateral relations. The agreements signed in Tirana on December 21, 2021 aim to remove barriers that hinder trade and the free movement of persons, and enable the use of electronic services within the initiative itself.

In the context of the use of electronic services, for now we single out two services:

1. My Open Balkan Identification Number as a service intended for citizens of the Republic of Serbia. Obtaining the Open Balkan ID number ensures that, by using your electronic identity on the eGovernment Portal, you can use the electronic services within the Open Balkan initiative on the official eGovernment portals of the Republic of Albania and the Republic of North Macedonia.

2. Approval for Free Access to the Labour Market as a service intended for citizens of the Republic of Albania and the Republic of North Macedonia who have Open Balkan ID numbers.
